Dear subscribers,
And there we have it. This is the last of our campaign posts for this election period, so we thought we all needed and deserved a timeline cleanse. Enter Albert and Isaac, David Harvie’s purrrfect ginger boys (sorry!)
The NEC and national officer elections close tomorrow, Wednesday 1st March. So if you haven’t voted yet and still want to, you’ll need to send your ballot in today, and pay for special delivery.
But we’ve been wanting to use this final election post to say a huge thank you to everyone in UCU Commons who has worked so hard on our campaign. First, a massive thank you to our slate of candidates. It takes real courage to put yourself up for election like this. Our candidates are:
Emma Battell Lowman
Francis Clarke
Matilda Fitzmaurice
Rebecca Harrison
David Harvie
Chris O’Donnell
Bijan Parsia
Mark Pendleton
Caroline Proctor
Vivek Thuppil.
We also want to thank all those UCU Commoners who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to support the slate and make the campaign happen. This includes video editing and captioning and social media, but also the care and moral support that made it all possible. So here we thank:
Adam Barker
Rob Clarke
Helen Eborall
Jo Edge
Sarah Seaton
Deborah Toner
Gabby, Albert and Isaac
Finally, a huge thankyou to everyone else in UCU Commons for everything you’ve done, and of course, to all those UCU members who trusted us with your votes. We’re truly humbled and grateful.
We now turn our focus to securing a decisive Yes vote in the current re-ballot. If you need to order a replacement ballot, you can do so here from 9am onwards today, Tuesday 28th February.
In solidarity,
UCU Commons
